Introducing The Chess Fund

Over the past couple of weeks, I've decided to pick up chess as a hobby. To document the Who, What, When, Where, and Why behind my journey with chess . . . I've decided to start blogging my incremental learnings — as a beginner. I'm assuming that the audience of The Chess Fund will be slightly different from those who my tech blog reaches, hence my decision to begin using my Facebook Account and ChessFund.org for this topic. I was originally recommended to start the Founders Chess Fund in New York City by my friend Rohit Rustagi. I asked him "what is that supposed to be?". He told me that all the founders in New York can pitch $20 in every week to play chess in a bar. I was seriously considering that idea until he spent 8 moves castling his king with his queen . . . taunted me over the chess board . . . and easily beat me. At that moment, I knew I needed to really work on my fundamentals before inviting all the startup folks in New York City to watch what just happened to me live before their eyes. I'm very excited to introduce ChessFund.org, where I'll be building my "portfolio" of lessons and reflect on my educational journey.
